Christmas Day is perhaps the day of the year that we spend the most time and effort preparing for. (Apart from your wedding day – but that doesn’t come around every single year, does it?). Not only do we prepare for it ourselves, but we find that we are surrounded by lots of other people preparing for it. Everywhere you look, Christmas lights and decorated trees are going up in the streets, shops, houses and gardens.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas at home or elsewhere, there is always a lot to be done. And in our church services we try to prepare ourselves for Christmas, too. We gradually remind ourselves of what it is we are celebrating at the Christmas season. Perhaps in today’s message you’ll find an aspect that you’ve not noticed or considered before, and which will open your understanding of God’s greatness and love even more.
